Engagement models
I can provide ad hoc consultancy on contracts, IP, and compliance matters. Think of me as a legal ‘phone a friend’, able to have a quick chat about something - or able to step in and help with a specific contract or project, a review of your customer and supplier engagement processes and documentation, or support for a new third-party collaboration. I can work with businesses who do not have in-house lawyers, and I can also support sole in-house legal counsels and in-house legal teams on anything from strategic to practical legal matters.
I can work with start-ups and small businesses as a “fractional General Counsel”, i.e., I am able to provide strategic legal advice and support to CEOs and their leadership teams, and look after legal matters, for clients who wish to commit to a regular 0.5 to 2 days per week. This is particularly effective for businesses who are not ready to employ a lawyer and who need to carefully control costs, but who would benefit from a legal perspective in leadership meetings and a regular and reliable pair of hands to manage legal matters for your business.

Contracts advice and support. I can provide advice and support on NDAs, customer contracts, supply contracts, collaboration agreements, IT contracts, software licences, SaaS / PaaS / IaaS / XaaS contracts, IP licences, agency contracts, distribution contracts, terms of business… in fact, any form of commercial contract! I can prepare new templates for your business, review and advise on third-party contract terms, and negotiate contracts on your behalf. I can help you refine your customer engagement and supplier engagement models and documentation. I am a commercial lawyer by background; contracts are my bread and butter! Intellectual property advice. I can provide advice on intellectual property, from strategic matters to day-to-day issues that arise. This includes advice on contracts relating to intellectual property, from patent licences to collaboration agreements, and also advice on brand protection, trade mark registration, and advice on how best to protect confidential know-how and trade secrets.
Regulatory compliance. I can advise on data protection and other compliance matters affecting your business.
Fundraising readiness advice. I can help to get your business in the best possible shape prior to your next investment round. This can include auditing where you are and assisting with implementing recommendations - from drafting new policies to updating contract templates.
Legal spend management. I can provide advice on managing your spend with external legal counsel (i.e., private practice law firms) to ensure best value for money.
Training. I can provide tailored training for you and your leadership team, and all your employees where needed, in relevant legal, governance, compliance, and IP matters.
